My Real Estate Store is committed to equal housing opportunity, equal professional service, and a real estate experience grounded in dignity, clarity, and respect. We do not discriminate in the sale, rental, financing, advertising, or delivery of housing-related services.
1. Federal Fair Housing Protections
The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits housing discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability. These protections apply to many activities connected with buying, selling, renting, financing, advertising, and obtaining housing-related services.
2. State and Local Protections
State and local fair housing laws in Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and the communities we serve may provide additional protections. My Real Estate Store follows all applicable federal, state, and local fair housing and equal-opportunity requirements.
3. Equal Professional Service
We seek to provide each consumer with consistent access to information, property opportunities, communication, and professional service. Decisions and recommendations should be based on lawful, objective criteria and the consumer's stated real estate needs—not protected characteristics.
4. Steering and Consumer Choice
We do not steer, direct, or discourage consumers toward or away from a property, neighborhood, or community because of protected characteristics. Consumers decide where they wish to live. Our role is to provide lawful, relevant real estate information that helps them evaluate their options.
5. Advertising and Communications
Our advertising, website content, social media, forms, and agent communications may not express an unlawful preference, limitation, or exclusion. Property descriptions should focus on the property, its features, and verifiable location information.
6. Property Search and IDX Information
Property listings displayed through IDX or MLS tools are provided for consumer convenience and do not represent a recommendation concerning who should live in a particular area. Listing information may be supplied by third parties and should be independently verified.
7. Neighborhood, School, and Community Questions
Questions about schools, safety, demographics, religious institutions, neighborhood composition, or similar topics should be evaluated using neutral and reliable public sources. We may direct consumers to those sources so they can make their own informed decisions without unlawful steering.
8. Disability-Related Requests
We will provide reasonable assistance with our services when requested and will communicate disability-related accommodation or modification requests to the appropriate housing provider, property owner, association, or other responsible party. Approval of a particular housing request may depend on the facts, the responsible party, and applicable law.
9. Independent Service Providers
Lenders, insurers, appraisers, inspectors, title companies, settlement providers, housing providers, and other third parties make their own decisions and are responsible for complying with fair housing and equal-credit laws. My Real Estate Store does not control or guarantee a third party's decision.
10. Agent and Contractor Responsibilities
Agents, contractors, and service providers working with or through My Real Estate Store are expected to comply with applicable fair housing requirements, brokerage policies, advertising standards, and professional obligations. Concerns should be reported promptly for review.
11. Reporting a Fair Housing Concern
You may contact My Real Estate Store if you believe you experienced unequal treatment in connection with our services. Contacting us does not waive any right, extend a filing deadline, or prevent you from contacting a government agency or attorney.
A housing-discrimination complaint may also be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) at HUD.gov/ReportHousingDiscrimination or by calling 1-800-669-9777. Complaints should be submitted promptly because legal time limits may apply.
12. No Retaliation
My Real Estate Store does not permit retaliation against a person for asserting fair housing rights, requesting an accommodation, filing or supporting a complaint, or participating in a fair housing investigation.
13. No Legal Advice
This page provides general information and does not provide legal advice or create an attorney-client relationship. Fair housing questions involving a specific situation should be discussed with a qualified attorney or the appropriate government agency.
